What's in a care plan and why is there a monthly cost after build?
After your site is built, we have to make sure your site stays secure and safe against malware and hacks, so we ask all clients to sign up for a care plan - this covers hosting and software updates and we'll throw in an hour of content updates, uploads, troubleshooting because we want you to be active online.
WordPress is the most flexible, fast to deliver, optimisable (the process of making a site fast and nimble for speedy delivery to users - google loves this!) and customisable content management system there is.
It's open source, which means anyone can contribute to making it the best experience for site owners (businesses) and users (audience). Because of this constant evolution - the constant contribution of plugins and tweaks and improvements, it has to stay safe and secure. WordPress managers are constantly updating the core framework/software, to keep it stable and secure with all of the other development going on.
In response to these software changes, we 'update' each time there is a change to wordpress core:
- all wordpress plugins and themes have to respond to these function and security updates, sowe go onto your site and make sure it's all working in this newly improved environment
- we make sure the plugins that make your site go ping are all performing well and playing together nicely
- we store backups of your site so we can go back to a previous version if anything goes wrong
- we use dedicated wordpress hosting that is staffed 24/7 by wordpress technical experts whose job it is to make sure your site is safe, secure and happy. It's a dedicated wordpress environment, so there's nothing these guys don't know about site performance and safe housing.
